Who is responsible

Guillaume Durosoy, entrepreneur individuel (EI), trading as Conflict Trade, is responsible for the personal data used to administer the publication and its subscribers. Business address: 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France.

For privacy questions or rights requests, email hello@readconflicttrade.com.

Information we use

  • Subscription information: your email address, subscription status and associated signup or unsubscribe records, including dates and acquisition information recorded by the newsletter platform.
  • Reader account: we register the email you submit with your newsletter signup and assign it a reader account identifier. A one-time email code verifies that you control the inbox when you sign in. We record any deactivation date and check your subscription in Beehiiv to control archive access and process changes you request.
  • Correspondence: your email address and the information you choose to send when contacting us.
  • Technical information: connection and security data handled by the hosting services, a temporary IP-based counter for signup attempts and temporary pseudonymous records to limit requests for sign-in codes. Sources searches may appear in the page address, including when you share or reload that address.
  • Email engagement: Beehiiv can measure delivery, opens and link clicks. These features may involve information about a message interaction or device; an open is not a reliable measure of whether a person read an email.

The signup form requires an email address to deliver the newsletter. Subscribing is optional; public pages can be browsed without joining the list.

Purposes & legal bases

Deliver the newsletter you request
Your consent. You may withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
Protect the service and prevent abuse
Our legitimate interest in operating a secure, reliable publication and protecting signup forms.
Answer your correspondence
Our legitimate interest in responding to the enquiry you send us.
Handle legal obligations and rights requests
Compliance with applicable obligations; where relevant, our legitimate interest in establishing or defending legal rights.

A request for the newsletter does not by itself authorize unrelated purposes that require separate consent.

Providers & international processing

Beehiiv manages subscriptions and email delivery. It processes publication data on our behalf under its Data Protection Addendum. If optional Enhanced Data or Ad Network services are used, their additional processing terms may involve Beehiiv acting as an independent controller. Any additional purposes must be explained and any consent required by law obtained before that processing begins.

Resend is the email provider for reader sign-in codes. When code delivery is enabled, we send the destination address and sign-in message to Resend for delivery. See the Resend privacy policy.

OpenAI ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare provide the website platform and infrastructure. Email service providers also process correspondence sent to our contact address. When archive thumbnails are present, the media host serving an image can receive connection information when it loads. Relevant provider information is available in the OpenAI EU privacy policy, Cloudflare privacy policy and Beehiiv privacy policy.

Processing can take place outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Beehiiv’s DPA incorporates EU Standard Contractual Clauses for relevant transfers where legally required. The applicable terms depend on the provider’s role and processing involved. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

How long information is kept

Subscription information is used while you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, newsletter delivery stops. Limited records may remain to respect your opt-out, demonstrate the choices you made or meet applicable legal obligations; unsubscribing is not a promise that every platform record is immediately erased.

Contact correspondence is kept as needed to resolve the enquiry and any related follow-up. Records needed for a legal obligation or dispute are kept for the period relevant to that obligation or claim, with access limited to that purpose.

The application’s abuse-prevention counter uses a one-minute rate-limit window and temporary runtime storage. Its failure diagnostics use fixed categories and do not include email addresses, IP addresses, credentials or raw message contents. Hosting and newsletter providers may maintain their own operational records under their applicable policies and our instructions.

Cookies & measurement

The reader account uses necessary cookies to connect a sign-in attempt to your browser for up to ten minutes and keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Signing out clears those cookies in your browser. Hosting and security services may use their own necessary technologies. Beehiiv reader pages and emails can also use measurement technologies described in its policies.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and review the controls offered on the provider pages you visit. Blocking cookies needed for authentication may affect sign-in. Where a non-essential technology requires consent, that choice must be separate from accepting website terms or requesting the newsletter.

Your choices & rights

You may unsubscribe from your reader account or by using the link in an email. You may still raise a separate privacy request. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Under applicable data-protection law, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights apply subject to their legal conditions. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data.

Send requests to hello@readconflicttrade.com. You may also complain to the CNIL, the French data-protection authority, or another competent supervisory authority.

Security & changes to this notice

We use HTTPS and restricted administrative access to protect the service and its subscription administration.

If the purposes or tools change, this notice will be updated and any additional information or consent required by law will be provided before the new processing begins.
